A lamp and rod flow tube, water jackets and flowing plates are used in liquid cooled solid state lasers to channel and direct coolant across the surface of the laser rod and light source. A flow tube and flowing plates ensure the smooth motion of the coolant minimizing any turbulence or boiling within the laser head and cavity. Most light sources produce excessive visible and ultraviolet light which can reduce the efficiency of the lasing process and solarize the surface of the laser rod over a period of time. The glass material used minimizes the solarization process. Regular inspection is recommended to replace any flow tube that becomes contaminated or scratched.
